BTR News: What If You Received A “Million Dollar Reparations Check”, Would You Know What To Do With It?

On this podcast, tune in to BTR News w/ Scotty T Reid which was blessed to speak with Thando Radio Show's host David Wren and his co-host Pastor Keith. Dave as he is known to callers frequently discusses financial news stories in his "what's in the news" segments and opens up the phone lines for ordinary people to exchange information and share opinions on the economic issues confronting people today.
The main topic is a question concerning any conversation concerning justice for victims who refer to themselves as American Slaves and not "Black People".
We are asking you to ask yourself one central question concerning what corporate media has dubbed a "reparation check".
We want to invite anyone who has an opinion because that is all we are doing and not giving financial advice.
We can not allow the media corporations to control the narrative of the social media buzz generated by ordinary Descendants of American slaves using #ADOS, #DAS or #VOAS which have come under fire by outlets like MSNBC to discredit the grassroots movement with false narratives and associations.
Ask questions! What is "reparations" and "who" specifically are they for when we use the r-word.  Who would qualify for "reparations" from the US government and its individual co-defendant "slave states".?
But to keep it simple and focus on the need for more financial literacy, our what if a question is what would you do if you got a "million dollar" check. Some estimate that reparations would cost the USA Inc trillions of dollars to settle the debt.
What type of impact might that have on the currency as a whole, its value on the global market and even if it loses $400,000 in what some call "purchasing power", what could you do to get the best return on the $600,000 you might have left.

“Reparations Talk” & Strategy w/ Descendants of American Slaves Political Action Committee #DASPAC

 
Tonight on BTR News, we will engage in what someone called the "reparations talk" that seemingly emerges every four years when it close to another Presidential campaign. For some reason, this isn't an issue raised during the midterm races for seats in Congress or even for state legislator or governor raises. The last two presidential candidates that were asked if they supported "reparations" were Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama who both said no and still enjoyed 80 plus percent of the Black vote.
Louisvillian Norris E. Shelton published his first literary work, America’s Little Black Book, in 2005. The book addresses the continuing, troubled journey of the descendants of American slaves. Tonight we will be joined by Mr. Leonard Walker, President of DASPAC (Descendants of American Slaves Political Action Committee).  Mr. Walker credits the DASPAC movement to Mr. Norris Shelton whose research led him to introduce the concept of American Slaves and Descendants of American Slaves to America in his book "America's little black book" which was published in 2005.
Mr. Walker was introduced to the movement in 2014 and says that based on his research and dealing with our people, it was abundantly clear we needed to reshape our culture from the foundation up. In 2018  the 501c4 DASPAC was created for the specific purpose of getting our people actively involved properly with the political aspect of our community.
Some things DASPAC proposes we discuss are as follows.,
Politics 
Create a local, state and nationwide non-partisan independent voting Bloc. This voting bloc will force politicians to compete for our votes and campaign donations. No more giving our energy to causes that have no benefit to our community. No more benign neglect.
Economics
Provide services in basic financial literacy such as preparing a budget and understanding the difference between costs versus value. Provide services that teach investing, wealth building and the importance of group economics. Provide services that teach the value of ownership and community building in America.
Cultural:
Through mentorship, create a culture of morality and unity. Restore our traditional family structure. Create a universal code of ethics and behavior among our people. Honor the struggles and sacrifices of our ancestors through our successes. Redefine our metrics of success. Create a culture of expectation among our youth.
Justice 
Dismantle the color-coded caste system called "Race" that denies our people the full rights and privileges of US Citizenship guaranteed by the US Constitution. Hold all politicians and civil servants accountable to the oath of office or position to protect and defend the US Constitution that protects us as citizens. Implement a plan to seek justice for those victims and their families and surviving relatives that were adversely affected by policies and practices that intentionally marginalized or continues to marginalize our people as a result of the old and new "Jim Crow". To correct the injustices and level that playing field that still relegates our people into second-class citizenship.

Confronting the Xenophobia & Proxy Racism of the #ADOS Hashtag Movement

Tonight on BTR News we will be joined by Bro. Ras to discuss the anti-African and xenophobic elements of the #ADOS hashtag movement for reparations and why it is so offensive to many Afro-Descendant people as its leaders and some of the followers are trafficking in stereotypes and the demonization of immigrants to the United States.
After defending the movement against Russian bot accusations and just about to support it, I have to now distance myself from it and warn the audience of Black Talk Radio about the fallacies of joining a movement rooted in xenophobia and attacking Pan Africanism and the historic Black Radio Tradition. Afro-descendant immigrants have a history of struggling side by side with Black Americans in some of the greatest movements against white supremacy this nation has seen and have not witnessed since. People like Marcus Garvey, Kwame Toure aka Stokely Carmichael and American Descendants of Victims of Slavery. People like Malcolm X who was assassinated shortly after his conscious awakening that came after his trips to Mecca and the continent of Africa to establish support on the continent for American Blacks in the global struggle against white supremacy.
I will also talk about the history of African Americans participating in some of the worst human crimes in US history like the extermination of American Indians in the West, the overthrow of Puerto Rican sovereignty, the overthrow of South American nations and more recent the murder of the Pan Africanist leader of Libya resulting in the rise of open-air human trafficking aka slavery in one of the most prosperous nations in Africa. Ghaddafi attempted to give billions of dollars to help Black Americans but was blocked by the US government without a peep from the Congressional Black Congress before he was killed by jihadists aided by the CIA in the overthrow of his nation, again, without protest but praised by some Black Americans like Rev. Bernice King.
Ras is an American born son of Trinidadian immigrants who studied Pan African history at the feet of Black scholars in the New York area to talk about what seems to be the latest crab in the bucket expression by non-white people.

BTR News: Oath Breakers Led By Republican Marco Rubio In The Senate Vote To Undermine US Constitution

In a move to protect a white supremacist satellite, a majority of the US Senate just advanced a bill to strip Americans of their First Amendment Rights. With all the Russiagate conspiracy fueled by the US Media and Robert Mueller's ongoing probe that has yet to charge a single person for collusion to undermine the 2016 Presidential election, the Israeli government through its lobbyist and agents have passed anti-BDS legislation in a number of US states and now hope to make it a federal law.
Florida Senator and Republican Marco Rubio introduced the Combating BDS Act into the Senate and with bi-partisan support and few Senators seeking to stand up for the rights of Americans, has advanced it through.
This is happening despite economic boycotts being ruled constitutional by the US Supreme Court in the landmark civil rights case NAACP v. Claiborne Hardware Co. Source Material.

BTR News: PNAC Long Term Policies At Work In Venezuela And Why It Matters

While some independent outlets and Youtubers have mentioned the Project for the New American Century, a neo-con think tank with a plan for US global domination that was at the height of their power during the Bush Administration, there has been no mention of PNAC in the corporate cable news outlets as Donald Trump appoints yet another PNAC member to his administration with little opposition from establishment Democrats. Just as oil was at the center of the overthrow of Saddam Hussien, so it is with the coup attempts in Venezuela one of the world's largest oil producers. Tune in as we unpack the history of PNAC and its policy paper Rebuilding America's Defenses and how it is in play in the US governments actions around the world.

Are US Politicians & News Media Using Dead Refugee Children As Political Props?

BTR News - Using children as political props in which to shame or embarrass a nation or leaders of that nation is nothing new in US politics. Sometimes the concerns raised are legitimate, sometimes they are illegitimate and sometimes it is both.
It should be evident now that just like during the 2016 Presidential race, cable news networks were oversaturating the news cycle with news stories about Donald Trump and a CNN network boss said as much saying Trump was good for ratings and ratings are good in attracting paid advertisement. I suspect the same holds true today as newsfeeds are saturated with Trump coverage, some of it legitimate news coverage and a lot of it seems petty, biased and a waste of digital space.
However, a lot of news coverage about the mistreatment of South and Central American refugees and their children is very legitimate and this commentary should not be construed as an objection to that coverage. What I am questioning is the motivation not just of the news coverage but the political grandstanding by Democrats.
Case in point. Recently two children died of apparent illness while in the custody of immigration officers which has caused the Secretary of Homeland Security to do some explaining about the conditions of detention for refugee children. We have had wall to wall media coverage on the cable news networks about those two unfortunate deaths. However, when the Miami Herald produced an editorial report just last week published details surrounding the murder of a 17-year-old troubled teen who was locked up in Miami-Dade Regional Juvenile Detention Center, it elicited no national coverage. Five staffers at the juvenile lockup were fired in connection with the death of Elord Revolte who was viciously beaten to death by other juvenile detainees allegedly at the behest of guards. "Elord should have gotten immediate medical care. He didn’t. Staffers waited a full day before calling an ambulance to get Elord to a hospital" and "within days, up to 15 young detainees told their attorneys of the practice of inmates being offered honey buns by guards in exchange for hurting or disciplining other detainees."
If you think this is an isolated incident then take a look at the allegations made by a former Texas Department of Justice employee Dominique Mitchell turned whistleblower in March of 2018 who alleged that guards routinely physically abused the children in their custody and care and would withhold food from them. Beto O'Rouke a Texas Representative who failed in his bid to unseat Senator Ted Cruz but is being pushed by establishment Democrats to run for President garnered national media attention in calling for the closure of a Texas immigration facility detaining children citing human rights concern.
The national cable news media did not devote much coverage if at all to these two stories about American children being abused in juvenile detention facilities. Beto O'rouke did not call for the closing of the Texas Department of Justice facility the whistleblower spoke about. This leads me to believe that both the media and Democrats are not as concerned about the mistreatment of children as they would have us to believe. In the seven years that I have been producing New Abolitionists Radio, I can recall a number of stories concerning the mistreatment of children by guards and administrators in juvenile detention facilities. Don't get me started on the abuses seemingly rampant in the foster care system.
All I am suggesting that in addition to the outrage of the mistreatment of refugee children, the same level of outrage if not more should be directed at the abuse of American children by those charged with their care in both the federal and state systems.

BTR News: Trump Shows His Hand As An Enemy Of The US Constitution

Donald Trump exposed himself and others to be domestic enemies of the US Constitution. Yes, the very Constitution that Trump and other members of his cabinet swore an oath to uphold and defend but would be undermined if they had their way.
The US Constitution is the highest law of the land on which every law passed in the United States must meet constitutional muster determined by the US federal courts.
President Trump has been part of the birther movement that emerged during the candidacy of former President Barack Obama circulating propaganda that he wasn't a US citizen despite not only being born in Hawaii but to a mother who was a US Citizen. Racism was at the root of the conspiracy theories concerning Barack Obama just as racism is the root of Trump's proposed executive order to circumvent the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution and end birthright citizenship. We know racism is the motivating factor because Trump himself has called for more "white immigrants" from countries like Norway as opposed to non-white immigrants from "s-hole" countries that happen to all have non-white populations.
In support of this treasonous notion that Trump can circumvent the US Consitution, conservatives are floating around the doctrine of "intent". They are arguing that the authors who wrote and the legislators who ratified the 14th Amendment intended to only grant citizenship to the victims of slavery and their future descendants aka African Americans. If that is their argument and they truly believe in it, then they should be more than willing to give up their US citizenship granted by the 14th Amendment to their immigrant parents like in Trump's case. Anyone granted citizenship by way of naturalization should be stripped of it if their ancestors came from Europe to the United States after the American Civil War which would be well over half of the current citizens classified as white.
